I have been blogging rather regularly since last October. My mom had passed away in Sept of 2007 and it wasn't until Sept 2008 that I took a "adult loss of a parent" class through Arbor Hospice. During that time, we had talked about the importance of making journal entries or some type of outlet and I decided to start a blog for my siblings and myself (it now extends to nieces and nephews also). I invited all to participate but fully decide that if I were the only one blogging on it, it would still be good therapy for me. As part of the process, I entered pictures, and even a video that I created using "Photostory3". I would encourage anyone to view it...but posting is limited. Boy that made me feel powerful!;-) You can view it at www.calkinsfamilymemories.blogspot.com
I guess my biggest concern with blogging is that, because conversations are limited to text, you may offend when you don't intend...if you get my meaning. It kind of reminds me of sometimes when I am texting someone or reading their text. Without voice to ear conversations, things sometimes get misconstrued.

Your family blog is wonderful! Perhaps you can share this idea with the others that took your class. It would be so great if others in your family contributed, but even if they don't, what a wonderful way to document your family history and your special memories.
I love the photo of your Dad's coin purse. My Dad had one that was similar and I haven't thought about that in years. My condolences on the losses you have had, I lost my Father 1/1/08 so I know your pain.
Keep up the family blog, it's priceless.
